The October ten, 1969 edition of the Arizona Every day Sun (Flagstaff, Arizona) featured a front page story highlighting the education activities of Apollo 12 astronauts in Flagstaff preparing for their November journey to the moon. Apollo 12â??s colorful commander Pete Conrad was in the organization of a reserved man whose path to the astronaut corps freeze dried food and, shortly the moon, was decidedly in contrast to that taken by his fellow space explorers.
His name is Alan Bean and he gained fame not only as an astronaut and a single of only 12 guys to stroll on the moon, but as the only artist to travel to our nearest neighbor in space.
